Scene of the annual "Tyne Tour". Highlight is Warden's Gorge, a short 100m of bouncy grade 3 with a good slab drop at the end.
Levels are controlled by the massive Keider dam, which releases regularly including when there has been little or no rain. Above 3.0m@Reaverhill, there is a massive river wide hole at the bottom of Warden Gorge that is very difficult to avoid as the river is through the trees on both sides of the river by that time, and no escape eddies above it.
Putin at Chollerford bridge on river left. Takeout on river right at the landing area just upstream of the weir in Hexham.
