The classic gd2 run of the south-west, and an excellent introduction to whitewater for beginners. The first km down from Tarr Steps holds the best rapids.
If you can float under Tarr Steps the trip is worthwhile, if there isn't quite enough room to duck under you have an ideal level.
Putin at Tarr Steps, on the minor road between Hawkridge and Liscombe (south-east of Withypool). Takeout in Dulverton on river left just before the main bridge, using the public carpark rather than the limited parking by the river.
